Quilted Spiked Handbag

Just another spiked handbag to add to my up and coming CandaceDaniela collection :) Lined in white and black cheetah print, this handbag gives a different appeal than the first green and gold handbag I blogged about below. The quilting wasn't half as hard as I had thought but I definitely need to invest in an industrial sewing machine asap! With this many handbags I am planning on making... my Janome portable sewing machine  and serger won't last for long! :( Hope you like this one! .. can't wait to build my own website later this year. Please check out http://candacedanielafashion.blogspot.com Thanks!

Crochet Headbands!

I saw quite a few people with these super cute winter headbands but for some reason I can't seem to find where to buy them.... which always leads to the question..why not make it yourself? I've been knitting and crocheting for about 6 years but nothing more than scarves and blankets. I found a few tutorials which helped me. I used a double crochet stitch all around s. I did try a knitted headband, but i felt the stitching was too plain (this might be because my lack of skills in different knit stitches). Nonetheless I am super happy with the result of these crochet headbands and intend on making one in every colour under the sun :)

Cheesecake Heaven!

While I was searching for some good cheesecake recipes after my New Year's Ferrero Rocher Cheesecakes, I found a Caramel Toffee Crunch Cheesecake on a blog. I absolutely fell in love with the idea of lining the graham cracker crust with a layer of chocolate mmmmm mmmmm. I tweaked the cheesecake recipe a bit however as over the years I have developed certain likes and dislikes about cheesecake recipes. However, I took the concept and idea of this delicious Caramel Toffee Crunch Cheesecake. However I did learn that I need to stabilize the whipped cream (unfortunate fail on my behalf as the decorative whipped cream did not hold its shape). This was my fault though, as I forgot that this had happened to me before. 'next time however the topping will look better :). However, this cheesecake was much richer than the Ferrero Rocher Cheesecake I blogged about below. Very creamy and practically melts in your mouth. An excellent cake for a cheesecake lover! I made this cake for my very good friend's birthday, however he has yet to tell me how it tastes as he is waiting to share it with his parents! I hope he likes it!

Happy New Years!

What's the best way to kick off the New Year? Some cheesecake of course!
I decided I wanted to try something new and make a Ferrero Rocher Cheesecake. I googled some recipes but really wasn't too thrilled or satisfied with them or the reviews, so what better than to create your own? I felt like making a fluffy cheesecake (no-bake) because I was a little worried a heavy super rich cheesecake would over power the taste of the Ferrero Rocher flavour. Using crushed Ferrero Rochers, Nutella and a basic instinct cheesecake recipe from my head, I whipped up my first ever Ferrero Rocher Cheesecake!. It took two trys to get it right but the second one turned out exactly what I would expect a Ferrero Rocher Cheesecake to taste like. I think it was quite a hit with my friends and family (unless they were only trying to be super nice... ). Happy New Years Everyone!!
